About - Lassie Tuolu Senior High history

Located in the western portion of Wa in Ghana's Upper West Region, Lassia-Tuolu Senior High School was established in 1995. Lassia-Tuolu Senior High school was originally named, St. Ignatius of Loyola Senior High school. Found in a community called Lassia-Tuolu, the school was nicknamed after it. Lassia-Tuolu Senior High School is a mixed sex catholic school with great academic merits and popularity in the Upper West Region. With their motto, Endurance, Truth, and Wisdom, Lassia-Tuolu Senor High school has attained great successes from 1995 till date. A Catholic church led by Archbishop Emeritus Gregory Kpiebaya, who served as the Bishop of Washington in the 1980s, founded the school on March 3, 1995. The chief of Jenebob at the time came up with the original plan to meet the local youth's educational needs. The construction began in 1992 with funding from the German parish of St. Otger and its representative, Bernhard Nitschke.On March 3, 1995, the school officially opened with 120 students, 80 of whom were males and 40 of whom were girls. This was the first mixed Catholic school in the Upper West Region. In 1997, the school was officially incorporated into the public system. The school was able to enroll students in the boarding house starting in 1997 thanks to the ongoing assistance of the Parent-Teacher Association (P.T.A.) in feeding the kids three meals a day.
